Introduction & Biography
Saeed Gebaan is a Saudi contemporary artist working across kinetic, sonic, and atmospheric installations. His practice explores perception, presence, and invisible systems through immersive environments shaped by movement, light, airflow, reflection, and spatial tension. Drawing from a background in industrial engineering and dynamic sciences, Gebaan investigates how intangible forces influence human awareness and collective experience. His works often blur the boundaries between material and immaterial states, transforming physical phenomena into perceptual encounters. Born in Abha, Saudi Arabia, Gebaan’s relationship with shifting landscapes, climate, and spatial isolation continues to shape his artistic language and sensitivity toward atmosphere and transformation. He is the co-founder of phi Studio, an interdisciplinary platform focused on experimental and collaborative contemporary art practices. His work has been presented internationally through exhibitions, residencies, and festivals including Noor Riyadh, SAMoCA, Bienalsur, Quoz Arts Fest, Fenaa Alawwal, Al Riwaq Art Space in Bahrain, Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, and INTERVALS Festival in Russia.
